Does Your School Allow You To Bring Your Futon?

Before you lug a futon all the way to school, you should really look into whether or not your school allows you to have any furnishings in your room that weren't there to begin with. Quite a few schools won't. But some schools will allow additional seating but not another mattress and that's where futons come into the picture. Futons are able to be used as both bedding and seating, technically making them "hybrid cushions". Now you can take your futon with you when you go to school.

So what happens if your school has strict requirements due to fire codes? Just about every futon mattress on the market today has to be compliant with Federal Fire Law Standard (16 CFR - Part 1633), making every mattress resistant to an open flame.
